Equipment
- High-Speed Blender
- Cheesecloth
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cashews see notes
- 1 ½ - 2 cups filtered water see notes
- ⅛ teaspoon pink salt or sea salt
- 1 - 6 tablespoons pure maple syrup see notes
- 3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Drain and rinse soaked raw cashews well with cold water.
- Add them to a high-speed blender pitcher along with filtered water, salt, maple syrup, and vanilla.
- Blend on highest speed setting for about 4 minutes. If this seems like a long time, that's because it is. Keep going! If you do not have a high-speed blender, this won't be as smooth, but it will still be delicious! You can also strain the milk through a cheesecloth.
- When the cashew creamer is all done, it should be warm to the touch from all of the friction while blending.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
- Soak the raw cashews in cold water overnight. If you are pressed for time, you can alternatively soak for 1 ½ hours in boiling water.
- Depending on how well your blender works, you may need more or less water. Start with 1 ½ cups and observe final texture. You can always add that other ½ cup later.
- Use anywhere between 1-6 tablespoons of pure maple syrup depending on your sweetness preferences.
